Children Grieve, Too

Whitehouse Junior High School
$4,400.00

The loss of a parent or loved one impacts children and disrupts many areas of their life, including academics and social/emotional development. Students may lose interest in their schoolwork and friends, may not know how to communicate or cope with the loss, or know how to keep going. Students need to know they are not alone and they do not have to walk their path/journey alone. This grant funds a social worker to conduct 2 8-week sessions for students who are grieving a loved one. Additionally, campus counselors will be trained to conduct future sessions across Whitehouse ISD.
