BROWN ELEMENTARY

LEGO Crazy with Learning (Kindergarten, $1,479.60)

Your Kindergarten classes are getting LEGO! These LEGO kits will be used to help you play and learn about reading, math, science, technology, and writing. But it’s not just building with little blocks! You’ll use these kits with iPads to do so many cool things!

EIE-io (First Grade, $2,223.60)

Who loves butterflies? Who loves plants? Who loves science?! Well, this spring your teachers are going to use some really cool science kits to help you learn all about insects and plants. We know that you all are going to love this! 

Marvelous Musical Playground  (The whole school, $3,940.00)

Has anyone ever played the xylophone? Has anyone ever been to a playground with the xylophone? They’re so much fun. Now everyone will have the chance to play the xylophone on YOUR playground. Thanks to your music and PE teachers, you’ll be able to use this outdoor xylophone during recess and PE.

Education with EDUmarking (The whole school, $5,000.00)

We’ve heard that you all love the games on your playground--snakes and ladders, a multiplication chart, and more. You have another piece coming! A number alligator and the complete solar system. You all are going to have so much fun learning and playing!

CAIN ELEMENTARY

Make History Come Alive (5th grade, $814.14)

History is coming to life! OK. Not really. But with this grant Ms. Bielss is getting all sorts of fun, hands-on activities to make learning history more fun. What better way to learn about how the Declaration of Independence became a founding document for our nation than to actually analyze and hold a copy of it? Or how about building a “wattle and daub” home—like in Colonial America? Learning about history will never be more fun!

Let’s Get Physical (1st grade, $1,068.00)

What’s better than sitting at a desk doing math facts or practicing sight words? Being able to move around! With Fitness & Fluency first graders will pair learning with movement such as jumping jacks and running in place. When we add movement to learning, it can help your brain remember. And it’s fun!

Get Lit(eracy) in Room K6!! (Kindergarten, $1,297.75)

Your classroom is leveling up for independent reading! Ms. Stephens asked for Leap Frog Learning and Hot Dots to make reading time more fun. You’ll be able to watch a read-along, listen to a read-along while following along in the book, and she’s having some of her former students come back to be guest readers. You all will be super readers in no time!


Brighten the Future...One Hand at a Time (Pre-K through 1st, $1,671.59)

The LRC is getting a color-changing light table! Not only will it be fun to look at, but it makes learning fun, too! With see-through shapes and letters, the youngest students will be able to enjoy learning while learning how to solve problems.

To The Perot We Go (5th grade, $1,918.65)

Who wants to get out of the classroom? What about leaving the school for a whole day? Well, fifth grade is busting out the spring! You’re going on a field trip to Dallas to visit the Perot Museum!! For an entire day, you’ll learn through the amazing science exhibits! It’ll be something you’ll remember forever.

Portals to Play & Learning with Sensory PODS! (Pre-K through 5th grade, $3,848.41)

Sometimes we need a break. And sometimes we want some time to read in a quiet place. We’re giving your class inflatable pods that feel safe and cozy. These pods have relaxing sounds while you take a break. And you won’t just have to sit--you can listen to an audiobook or read an ebook if you’d like.

HIGGINS ELEMENTARY

Giving Every Student a Front Row View  (3rd grade, $604.90)

When you’re in the science lab, Ms. Lindsey wants you all to be able to see like you’re at the front of the class. So the science lab is getting a document camera. You all will be able to watch science labs and present your science journals and investigation. Instead of craning to see, you’ll simply watch the screen.

Math Games Galore (2nd through 5th grade, $2,677.80)

Who likes to do lots of worksheets? Who likes to play games? Well, your teachers are getting Math Games Galore. Instead of giving a worksheet of math problems, they’ll be able to break out some games to help you learn math concepts. That’s way more fun, right?! 

Creative Minds: Bringing Our Stories to Life  (3rd grade, $4,000.00)

If you love to write stories, and if you’ve ever dreamed of your story becoming a play, then get excited! Your teachers will have you write creative stories, and then they’ll send them to professional actors at Imagination Machine. These actors will perform some of the stories in front of you--with costumes, props, and music. 

STANTON-SMITH ELEMENTARY

Rev up STEAM with indi (Pre-K through 1st, $2,450.74)

Your teachers want more robots! Big kids get to use the robots in the LRC, but the youngest students have to wait. Not any more! With indi robots, even the youngest students will be able to have fun and learn the very basics of coding.

Launching Into Summer Learning (Kinder through 5th, $4,479.74)

Let’s stop the summer slide! With five Launchpads per grade, students will have access to educational material throughout the summer even if books or an internet connection are not available. The devices are pre-loaded with educational content for kids, designed with a simple, easy-to-use interface, and 100% secure.  No download time. No need for Wi-Fi. 

HOLLOWAY 6TH GRADE

Let's Escape from Math Class (Math, $575.00)

Just imagine walking into your math class and suddenly you are transported into a math problem that you have to ESCAPE from. Instead of a lecture and worksheet, you're offered games that teach teamwork, critical thinking, and troubleshooting by presenting students with challenges that ignite their drive to problem-solve. Who wants that kind of learning? Well, you’re getting it with Breakout EDU boxes!

WHITEHOUSE HIGH SCHOOL

WildcatCS Drone Squad (Computer Science, $1,071.36)

Computer Science students are using Python programming to code Tello EDU drones! Upperclassmen will learn and teach lower classmen. Then they’ll break into teams of 4 and to solve several challenges using the drones and their Python programming knowledge. The best teams will travel to the elementary schools to perform a drone show for elementary students before the end of the school year.

Outdoor Adventures (Elective, $1,910.00)

This class is such a hit! We’re funding a fire pit that will be welded by the Whitehouse High School Ag Department. With this, you’ll be able to learn fire safety and how to cook over a fire. Outdoor Adventures is also getting fishing poles to learn how to fish and archery equipment to learn hunting safety. 

Totally Kiln It! (Art, $5,000.00)

We are so excited to provide a kiln for Whitehouse ISD! We know this will be a huge benefit to expanding the 3D art and ceramics program at Whitehouse High School.

DISTRICT-WIDE

Wildcats in a Tree (2nd-12th, Dyslexia, $1,750.00)

Fish in a Tree is a book that tells the story of a sixth-grade girl who struggles because of dyslexia that goes undiagnosed until a wise teacher sees, and more importantly, fosters and celebrates her gifts while teaching her to read. As a result, his efforts transform this student into believing the impossible is POSSIBLE. Your teachers believe this about you! Each student in the dyslexia program will receive a copy of Fish In a Tree and a live virtual meeting with the author.

In My Feelings (Pre-K through 5th, $3,804.23)

Sometimes feelings are hard to figure out, right? Your counselors want to help you with this. Each elementary school counselor will receive a Kimochi Took Kit, including a Kimochi Mixed Bag of Feelings. These are cute plush toys that allow you to communicate your feelings by choosing a "feeling pillow" to put in the Kimochi pocket. You’ll be able to hold the Kimochi while you talk to your counselor.
